Happy Monday! This past weekend I attended the SOME (So Other Might Eat) 27th Annual Dinner Gala and Silent Auction. SOME is a wonderful organization which helps the poor and homeless in Washington DC. The event wasn't just a nice evening out with dinner and drinks, but also raised 1.2 million dollars for their cause!
Of course, due to my career path, I was definitely enjoying the logistical parts of the event even more. The event was held at the National Building Museum which is definitely one of the prettiest event venues in DC. It was even more beautifully decorated with a great selection of warm hues and fall decor:
The giant columns in the building successfully divided the room between the auction/dance space, dinner space, and back of the house.
A Perfectly Set Table!
I also noticed that their table centerpieces were so simple yet pretty! Tea lights, Vases, and Fall veggies are all really easy to throw together yet still look excellent. I've also seen a lot of other events use floating candles in water which such a nicer effect than just having candles around the table:
Overall, the night was very pleasant and I'm glad I got the opportunity to help out a great cause. It also happen to reconfirm how much I love working in the events industry and I can't wait to further my career and start planning large scale events just like this one!
Now, its time to get through this short week and enjoy Thanksgiving with the family! Until next time...
